Mendocino Farms Opens in Dublin, Plans More

Fast-casual restaurant chain Mendocino Farms opened a new location in Dublin. The company, known for its sandwiches and salads, also plans to open two additional Bay Area restaurants later in 2026.

- The new Dublin restaurant is located at 5130 Dublin Boulevard in the Persimmon Place shopping center, occupying a space formerly held by Patxi's Pizza. - The two other Bay Area locations planned for 2026 are in Mill Valley, at 745 E Blithedale Ave. in the Alto Center, and in Concord, at 1975 Diamond Boulevard in the Willows Shopping Center. - Founded in 2005 by husband-and-wife team Mario Del Pero and Ellen Chen, the chain started with a single location in Los Angeles. - The company is majority-owned by the private equity firm TPG Inc., which acquired its stake in 2017. Whole Foods Market also holds a minority stake in the company. - Mendocino Farms ended 2024 with 75 locations and plans to open 15 new restaurants in 2025, with a goal of reaching 150 total units within five years. - The company is also expanding into new states, with its first Arizona location in Scottsdale scheduled to open in 2026. - Co-founder Mario Del Pero has since started another venture, DOM Food Group, which is a joint venture with Gwyneth Paltrow's brand, Goop, creating the Goop Kitchen concept.
