Google revives ‘Your Day’
Google is preparing a Gemini‑powered proactive feed called “Your Day,” a snapshot hub that resembles the old Google Now experience. (9to5google.com) At the same time, synced Notebooks are rolling out on the web for Google AI Ultra/Pro/Plus subscribers to keep notes and context across devices. Google is building a Gemini feature called “Your Day,” a proactive feed that would surface events and reminders before users ask for them. (9to5google.com) The feature was spotted in beta version 17.14 of the Google app, where code strings describe “Your Day” as a way to “receive a proactive feed from Gemini to stay ahead of your day.” The same teardown says Google is placing it inside the Gemini app’s Personal Intelligence settings. (9to5google.com) 9to5Google said the setting appears alongside Memory, Connected Apps, and Instructions, and that an early version can be launched from the app’s navigation drawer. The report said the finished feed could look like a stack of cards for upcoming events and reminders pulled from other Google services. (9to5google.com) The setup echoes Google Now and the later Assistant Snapshot, which tried to turn Google into a daily briefing screen instead of a search box. Google has not announced “Your Day,” and 9to5Google said its report came from an Android application package teardown, which means the feature could still change or never ship. (9to5google.com) At the same time, Google is shipping a more concrete Gemini update: notebooks that sync with NotebookLM. Google said on April 8 that notebooks are rolling out “this week” on the web to Google AI Ultra, Google AI Pro, and Google AI Plus subscribers. (blog.google) Google describes those notebooks as “personal knowledge bases” that let users group chats, files, and custom instructions in one place. The company said anything added in Gemini will also appear in NotebookLM, where users can use tools such as Video Overviews and Infographics on the same material. (blog.google) Google’s current plan tiers show notebooks are part of the paid Gemini lineup, not the free tier. A 9to5Google feature roundup published April 11 lists notebooks under Google AI Plus and says Google AI Pro includes NotebookLM, while Google AI Ultra adds a larger bundle of premium services. (9to5google.com) Google is also widening Gemini’s reach inside the home. A Google Home update published April 7 said Gemini for Home Early Access is expanding to 16 countries, including Japan and New Zealand, and to seven additional languages, bringing the total to 10. (jetstream.blog) That April 7 update said the rollout extends beyond the United States and Canada to Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Japan. Google Home app version 4.12 or later is required, and the rollout is scheduled to take place over the following week. (jetstream.blog) Taken together, the moves show Google pushing Gemini into three jobs at once: a feed that anticipates the day, a workspace that keeps project context, and a voice layer for Nest devices. “Your Day” is still only a hint in code, but notebooks and the Google Home expansion show the company is already laying down the surrounding pieces.
