Michigan beat Alabama 90-77 in the Sweet 16, with Yaxel Lendeborg posting 23 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists to power the No. 1 Wolverines into the regional final. Tennessee topped Iowa State 76-62 at the United Center, led by Nate Ament’s 18 points and Ja’Kobi Gillespie’s 16 as the Vols reached their third straight Elite Eight. UConn edged Michigan State 67-63 in Washington; Tarris Reed Jr. scored 20 and Alex Karaban added 17, with Reed sinking four pressure free throws in the final minute to seal the win. Duke survived a 80-75 test against St. John’s as Isaiah Evans scored 25 and Cameron Boozer posted 22 and 10, while Caleb Foster returned from a broken foot to contribute 11 second-half points in the comeback. The regional finals are set across the Elite Eight weekend — Duke vs. UConn in the East and Michigan vs. Tennessee in the Midwest — with the four regional championship games scheduled March 28–29 at sites that include Washington and Chicago. Seedings remaining in the bracket include two No. 1 seeds (Duke and Michigan), a No. 2 (UConn) and a No. 6 (Tennessee), setting up a mix of top-ranked favorites and mid-seed disruptors for the regional finals.
