Consider what plants to move or divide while they're still dormant. This is also a good time to add compost to garden beds. Don't prune spring-flowering shrubs like lilacs or forsythia yet, or you'll be cutting off this year's blooms. Wait until right after they flower to prune them. If you're starting seeds indoors, make sure you have adequate light. A sunny window might not be enough, so consider using grow lights.
