Paris Baguette Opens New Texas Location

Global bakery café chain Paris Baguette opened a new location in Richardson, Texas on February 27. The opening is part of an ongoing U.S. expansion for the brand, which now has over 4,000 units worldwide.

The new Richardson location is part of an ambitious goal for Paris Baguette, which aims to operate 1,000 stores in North America by 2030. The French-inspired South Korean bakery chain has been aggressively expanding, with plans to open over 100 new outlets in the U.S. and Canada in 2025 alone. To support this rapid growth, Paris Baguette's parent company, SPC Group, is investing $160 million in a new 260,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Burleson, Texas. This will be the company's first production site in North America and is expected to create 450 jobs, making it one of the top five employers in that area. Though its name evokes the capital of France, Paris Baguette was founded in South Korea in 1988 by businessman Hur Young-in. The chain is a subsidiary of the SPC Group, a South Korean food and confectionery conglomerate that started as a small bakery in 1945. The company first entered the U.S. market in 2005. As of early 2026, there are over 280 locations across North America, with the Richardson opening marking the 25th in Texas. The Richardson café is operated by franchisees Sweta Goyal, Puneet Mittal, Mamta Singhal, and Rajneesh Singhal, two couples who have a five-unit development agreement with the company. Their goal is to create a neighborhood gathering spot, mirroring the warm and welcoming atmosphere they enjoyed as customers. The brand's growth strategy heavily relies on franchising, with about 95% of its U.S. locations being franchisee-owned. This model has contributed to 19 consecutive quarters of positive same-store sales. Globally, Paris Baguette has a presence in several countries, including China, Vietnam, Singapore, France, and the United Kingdom. The company has stated long-term goals of potentially reaching 2,200 units across North America and expanding into Mexico and Central America.
