Nike x Fragment Collab Dropping Soon
The Fragment x Nike Mind 002 "Black" sneaker is releasing March 14 for $140, followed by a "Particle Grey" colorway on March 19. Designed by Hiroshi Fujiwara, these are highly coveted by sneakerheads and streetwear aficionados.
Hiroshi Fujiwara, often called the "Godfather of Streetwear," founded Fragment Design in Tokyo in 2003. However, his relationship with Nike began earlier, as he was part of Nike's HTM trio in 2002 alongside Mark Parker and Tinker Hatfield. This group created innovative designs across iconic Nike silhouettes. The Fragment x Nike Mind 002 showcases Fujiwara's minimalist design approach. The shoe features a Flyknit upper for a flexible, lightweight fit, and the midsole includes industrial-style serial numbering, emphasizing the design process over branding. The design incorporates a complex, thin toggle-lacing system, drawing inspiration from trail and outdoor footwear. Fujiwara's design philosophy favors restrained palettes and subtle branding. The Mind 002 collaboration includes a monochromatic "Particle Grey" colorway with Fragment's double lightning bolt logo discreetly placed. The sole features 22 nodes tinted in Fragment's signature royal blue.
