The incident occurred around 8:30 PM on platform number 1, where the accused lured the minor to a secluded area before assaulting her. 2/ The victim, a resident of Thane, was waiting for a train to Virar when the accused, identified as Sagar Shinde from Mumbra, approached her. Witnesses reported seeing the pair move toward a less crowded section of the platform. The girl raised an alarm after the assault, alerting nearby passengers and railway staff. 3/ Government Railway Police (GRP) at Kasarvadavli station responded immediately. Officers detained Shinde at the scene based on the victim's statement and preliminary witness accounts. He was arrested within 30 minutes and booked under POCSO Act sections for aggravated penetrative sexual assault and relevant IPC provisions including 376 (rape). 4/ The victim was rushed to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa for medical examination and treatment.
