PwC Opens M&A & Strategy Internships

PwC Advisory has opened applications for its 2026 Summer Internship in M&A and Strategy Consulting, targeting 2026 graduates. The recruiting process involves a web test, group discussion, and case interviews, with the first application deadline set for May 19, 2026.

PwC's Corporate Finance division, where these interns will be placed, comprises over 2,500 investment banking professionals worldwide. In the last decade, this group has provided financial advice on more than 4,000 deals with a total value of $550 billion. Interns will be directly involved in the M&A lifecycle, conducting market research, analyzing industry trends, and assisting in the preparation of presentations and financial models for client engagements. Tasks often include pre-deal due diligence, post-deal integration support, and creating deliverables like market sizing and competitor benchmarking. The role sits within the specialist Deals Strategy team at Strategy&, PwC's strategy consulting arm. This group advises private equity and corporate clients on investment perspectives and value creation, operating at a high tempo to analyze the commercial merits of potential acquisitions. The case interview portion of the hiring process is candidate-led, requiring applicants to structure their own approach to solving a business problem. These cases frequently focus on M&A-specific scenarios, such as evaluating potential acquisitions, assessing synergies, or planning post-merger integrations. Interviewers are trained to evaluate a candidate's structured thinking and comfort with ambiguity over finding a single correct answer. The goal is to simulate real-world client problems and observe how an applicant breaks down complex issues and communicates their reasoning. Ideal candidates are typically pursuing degrees in fields like Business or Engineering and have a preferred GPA of 3.3 or higher. The internship is designed for students in their third year of a four-year program or their fourth year of a five-year program. Compensation for the role is competitive, with a listed hourly pay range between $29.25 and $48.00, contingent on factors like location, skills, and experience. The internship also includes benefits such as medical insurance and a 401k plan.
