LA Marathon Details Go Live

Registration and event details for the 2026 Los Angeles Marathon are now available. The marathon remains a cornerstone LA event, serving as a major platform for experiential marketing, community engagement, and sponsor activations. Its organization provides a useful case study for students interested in sports marketing and brand partnerships.

The Los Angeles Marathon, officially the ASICS Los Angeles Marathon, is a major economic driver for the city, generating an impressive $122 million in economic impact. This figure places it in the same league as other significant cultural events in Los Angeles, such as the Academy Awards. The race has been recognized as one of the top 10 most valuable marathon brands in the world. The event is owned and operated by The McCourt Foundation, a nonprofit focused on finding cures for neurological diseases. Through its official charity program, the marathon has helped raise over $76 million for various partner organizations since its inception. The foundation itself has donated more than $6.7 million to neurology research. Title sponsor ASICS has a long-term commitment to the event, with their sponsorship extending until 2029. The marathon also attracts a host of other high-profile sponsors from various sectors, including automotive partner Kia and Italian marketplace Eataly, which hosts the VIP Finish Line Terrace. These brand activations are a key feature of the race weekend. The 2026 race, scheduled for Sunday, March 8th, will be the 41st running of the marathon. The weekend's events also include the LA 5K and a Charity Half Marathon. The main 26.2-mile course runs from Dodger Stadium to Century City, following a "Stadium to the Stars" route. With over 26,000 participants, the LA Marathon is one of the five largest marathons in the United States. The race weekend includes a two-day Lifestyle Expo at Dodger Stadium which, in previous years, has attracted more than 70,000 attendees and featured around 80 vendors. A notable community initiative tied to the marathon is the Students Run LA (SRLA) program. This program trains at-risk middle and high school students to complete the marathon, providing them with mentorship and support. The marathon organizer has provided millions of dollars' worth of free entries to students in the program over their long-standing partnership.
