Bi-Rite Market Expands to Outer Richmond
Bi-Rite, a specialty market, is opening its first West Side location in the Outer Richmond, bringing organic and locally sourced foods.
The new Bi-Rite location will be at 6001 California Street, in the former 6001 California Market space. The building has a vintage neon sign from the previous Appel & Dietrich Fine Food Market. The space includes 3,481 square feet on the ground floor and a 645-square-foot mezzanine. Bi-Rite is aiming to open the Outer Richmond location in 2027. However, the co-CEO of Bi-Rite, Patrick Mills, stated that the opening is contingent on resolving some issues. This will be Bi-Rite's fourth location in San Francisco. The company's expansion reflects the demand for community-focused grocery options in the city. The original Bi-Rite Market opened in the Mission District in 1940.
