Arbe Robotics Appoints New CEO to Drive Scaling

Radar technology company Arbe has appointed Ram Machness as its new Chief Executive Officer. Co-founder Kobi Marenko will transition to the role of President. The leadership change signals a strategic shift from founder-led product development towards professionalized scaling, a common inflection point for deeptech companies as they mature and expand their global commercial operations.

The new CEO, Ram Machness, is an internal promotion, having served as Arbe's Chief Business Officer for the past eight years. His background includes 12 years in senior business and product line leadership at Texas Instruments, signaling a shift from a founder-led R&D focus to scaling commercial operations. This leadership change occurs as Arbe transitions from development to serial production, with modest 2025 revenues of $1 million against a net loss of $45.2 million. The company recently raised $18.5 million in January 2026 and reduced expenses by 15% to extend its financial runway as it pursues major production programs. As CEO, Machness is set to prioritize expanding into Level 4 robotaxi and robotruck markets, alongside a significant push into China. Former CEO Kobi Marenko, now President, will focus on long-term strategy and advancing the company's initiatives in the defense sector. Arbe's 4D imaging radar chipset has secured key design wins, including with Chinese Tier 1 supplier HiRain, which is using the technology for a Level 4 autonomous vehicle program with a state-owned automaker. This partnership is expected to see thousands of vehicles with Arbe's chipset on the market starting in early 2027. The company is also collaborating with NVIDIA to integrate its high-resolution radar into the NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion autonomous driving platform. This move aims to accelerate OEM adoption by combining Arbe's detailed sensing with NVIDIA's powerful AI compute capabilities. Other key customers and partners include AutoX, which is using Arbe's technology for its autonomous vehicle fleet, and Veoneer, which selected Arbe for its next-generation radar systems. These collaborations are critical as the global automotive 4D imaging radar market is projected to grow significantly, with some estimates suggesting a CAGR of over 20%. The strategic pivot also includes targeting markets with faster adoption cycles than traditional automotive OEMs. This includes smart city applications, with customer Tianyi Transportation Technology in China placing follow-on orders, and the luxury marine market through a partnership with the Azimut-Benetti Group.
