Deep Learning Market Forecast to Near $300B by 2031

The global deep learning market is projected to surpass $296 billion by 2031, according to a new report from Mordor Intelligence. The market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 35.48% between 2026 and 2031. This growth is driven by widespread AI adoption, rising investment in generative AI, and demand for automation.

- Venture capital investment in generative AI surged to $49.2 billion in the first half of 2025, surpassing the total for all of 2024 as investors focus on more mature, revenue-generating companies. The United States accounts for 97% of the global deal value in this space. - The low-code and no-code platform market, a key enabler of automation for small businesses, is projected to grow from $28.75 billion in 2026 to $264.40 billion by 2032. It's anticipated that 70% of new applications developed by organizations in 2026 will use these technologies, up from less than 25% in 2020. - For e-commerce businesses, AI-powered personalization is a major focus. Tools like Shopify Magic assist merchants with AI-generated product descriptions and marketing content, while platforms such as Clerk.io and Bloomreach use AI to deliver personalized product recommendations, which can increase sales by 15-30%. - Small and medium-sized businesses are increasingly adopting AI for marketing and advertising. A recent study found 74% are already using or testing AI advertising tools, with expected benefits including improved audience reach (57%) and accelerated creative content generation (50%). - In the design field, AI tools like Midjourney are favored for creating unique, artistic visuals for mood boards and concept art, while Adobe Firefly is preferred for commercially-safe, brand-consistent marketing materials due to its training on licensed content. Firefly's integration with Photoshop and Illustrator also allows for a more streamlined professional workflow. - The adoption of deep learning is prominent in the healthcare sector for analyzing medical images like MRIs and CT scans to detect diseases such as cancer with high accuracy. Image recognition applications, in general, account for a significant portion of the deep learning market. - While AI tools can increase freelancer productivity by automating tasks, they are also shifting the job market. Since late 2022, there has been a notable decrease in freelance job postings for roles like writing, coding, and image creation. In response, 91% of top-tier tech freelancers believe AI skills now make them more attractive to clients. - The Asia-Pacific region is projected to be the fastest-growing market for deep learning, driven by significant investments in AI from countries like China, and the expansion of smart manufacturing and autonomous mobility. North America, however, currently holds the largest market share.
