Pendant records voice for private notes
A former Apple engineer raised $5M for a voice-recording pendant for private, hands-free note-taking.
The device, called "Rewind Pendant," allows users to capture thoughts and conversations without looking at a screen or typing. It uses on-device processing to transcribe and summarize audio, addressing privacy concerns. Rewind Pendant was created by Dan Siroker, who previously worked at Apple and co-founded Optimizely. Siroker lost much of his memory after a medical incident, which led him to explore ways to record and preserve memories. The $5 million seed round was led by Andreessen Horowitz. First Round Capital, BoxGroup, and various angel investors also participated. The pendant aims to solve the problem of forgetting important details from meetings or conversations. Users can review the recordings later to jog their memory or create more detailed notes.
