Prezi Named Top AI Tool
Software Experts has recognized Prezi as a leading AI-powered presentation platform in its 2026 review. The platform is noted for its ability to turn simple prompts or existing documents into fully structured, visually engaging presentations.
Founded in Budapest, Hungary, in 2009, Prezi was created to move beyond linear, slide-by-slide presentations. Its core feature is a zooming user interface (ZUI), a single, large canvas that allows presenters to show relationships between ideas in a more dynamic way. The company received its first major investment from TED and has since grown to over 160 million users worldwide. Before the recent boom in AI, Prezi had already established a significant user base, with approximately 400 million presentations created on its platform as of 2025. The platform's AI can now generate entire presentations from a simple text prompt, an existing PDF, or even an old slide deck, a feature designed to save educators significant prep time. The AI handles the initial structure, layout, and visual design, turning bullet points into animated content. Prezi's non-linear format is particularly suited for STEAM instruction, where visualizing connections between concepts is crucial. The zooming canvas can help illustrate scale, from a single cell to an entire ecosystem, or map out complex systems and processes visually. In 2019, the company launched Prezi Video, a tool that places the presenter directly alongside their visuals, like a newscaster. This feature is designed to make virtual and hybrid lessons more personal and engaging by keeping the teacher's "face time" with students central. While competitors like Canva and Beautiful.ai also offer AI-powered design, Prezi's distinguishing feature remains its cinematic, "conversational" canvas, which contrasts with the traditional slide-based format of most other tools. A June 2025 survey of over 1,300 users found that four out of five educators report Prezi helps them capture and hold student attention more effectively. The platform is also compliant with educational privacy standards like FERPA and GDPR, ensuring student and classroom data remains secure.
