Liebing & de Witte Collaborate Again
Chris Liebing and Charlotte de Witte, two titans of techno, have announced their second-ever collaboration, "Symphonie des Seins" ("Symphony of Existence"), continuing their creative partnership that's redefining contemporary techno. This follows their successful previous collaboration and represents a meeting of two of techno's most influential artists.
Their first collaboration, "Liquid Slow," was released in September 2019 and served as the debut release for de Witte's own KNTXT label. The idea to work together sparked at Awakenings Festival, leading to a two-track EP that also included the song "In Memory." "Symphonie des Seins" is described as a "surging acid-beast" that channels the energy of mid-90s techno. The track features a spoken word vocal from de Witte, with lyrics derived from diaries of ayahuasca and DMT trip reports that Liebing discovered online. This new track is the second single from Chris Liebing's upcoming album, "Evolver," which is scheduled for release in late March. The album is set to be Liebing's first solo techno LP in years and will feature other notable collaborators such as Luke Slater and Speedy J. Both artists are known for their distinct yet complementary styles of dark, powerful techno. Liebing is a long-standing pioneer of the genre, recognized for his dark and hypnotic rhythms, while de Witte is known for her "dark and stripped-back" take on acid and minimal techno.
