British-Inspired Restaurant Wilde's Opens in Los Feliz
Wilde's, a new restaurant serving British comfort food, has opened in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. The restaurant was founded by Tatiana Ettensberger and Natasha Price and features a cozy setting.
Wilde's is the realization of a childhood dream for co-founders Tatiana Ettensberger and Natasha Price, who have been friends since they were toddlers. Their lifelong bond, formed over weekly family dinners, evolved into a professional partnership after they both gained experience in the restaurant industry. Price honed her skills as chef de cuisine at Mina's NYC, while Ettensberger managed Chinatown's Café Triste and developed her wine expertise at Lasita. The concept for Wilde's, named after Price's niece, draws on her British heritage and the duo's shared California sensibilities, blending rustic British fare with seasonal, local ingredients. The menu features items like Welsh rarebit, bangers and mash, and battered fish with mint, alongside a sticky toffee pudding. Chef de Partie Sarah Durning also breaks down a whole hog weekly for use across the menu in items like sausage rolls and bangers. The restaurant operates as an all-day establishment, serving coffee and house-made pastries like scones and sausage rolls from its cafe in the morning before transitioning to an intimate, candlelit dinner service. Initially envisioned as a daytime-only spot, the dinner service has generated significant buzz, with lines forming down the block even before the doors open. Located in the former Thai on Hillhurst space, Wilde's has quickly become one of the city's most sought-after reservations. The cozy, 10-table dining room, featuring warm wood detailing and personal photos, primarily accommodates walk-ins, with a limited number of reservations released. This high demand is part of a larger trend that is turning Los Feliz into a notable dining destination.
