Fremont Kicks Off Restaurant Week
Fremont's Restaurant Week is now underway, offering 70 different meal deals and new dishes from participating local establishments. The city-wide event is designed to showcase the local culinary scene.
Fremont's 4th Annual Restaurant Week, running from March 6-15, builds on a successful model that began in 2023 to support local eateries post-pandemic. A survey following the inaugural event found that a majority of participating restaurants experienced at least a 25% increase in revenue. Additionally, 92% of restaurants reported attracting new customers, with 75% seeing a general increase in both foot traffic and revenue. The event has grown from 40 participants in its first year to 70 for 2026. The goal is to encourage residents to explore Fremont's diverse culinary scene, which includes American, Mexican, French, Indian, and a variety of Asian cuisines. Fremont Mayor Raj Salwan has emphasized the event's role in helping smaller, lesser-known restaurants gain visibility and keeping money within the local community. A popular feature returning this year is the Fremont Restaurant Week Passport, which encourages diners to visit multiple establishments. Patrons can collect a sticker at each participating restaurant, with each sticker acting as an entry into a prize drawing. This year, the prize pool is valued at $5,000, sponsored by Fremont Bank, DoorDash, and the Fremont Chamber of Commerce. In 2024, over 3,000 passports were submitted for the raffle. This year's kickoff will feature the inaugural delivery from "Dot," DoorDash's new all-electric, autonomous delivery robot. The robot, which is manufactured in Fremont, will begin a phased rollout in the city for community engagement and testing. This partnership highlights Fremont's focus on supporting both its culinary scene and its position as a hub for innovation in robotics.
