TECNO Unveils AI-Powered Phones at MWC
At MWC 2026 in Barcelona, tech brand TECNO is set to unveil its new flagship CAMON 50 smartphone series. The launch will focus on AI-driven imaging capabilities and a broader ecosystem of AI-integrated products.
The new CAMON 50 series pairs flagship Sony camera hardware with a dedicated AI computing architecture. This enables features like Super-Zoom FlashSnap for zero-lag high-speed captures and an AI Auto Zoom that intelligently frames subjects. The phone itself is positioned as a "Creative AI Hub," featuring an AI Art Gallery for transforming photos and a more deeply integrated "Ella" AI assistant. Under the hood, the CAMON 50 and 50 Pro are expected to run on a MediaTek Helio G200 Ultimate chipset. Both models will feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a large 6,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. Beyond phones, TECNO is also announcing a strategic partnership with luxury brand Tonino Lamborghini. The collaboration will produce a line of co-created devices, including a Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS gaming mini-PC and a limited edition POVA Metal smartphone. The company's broader ecosystem is linked through its upgraded OneLeap software, designed for seamless cross-device data transfer and task management between its phones, MEGABOOK laptops, and AI-enhanced wearables. In a more forward-looking announcement, TECNO is also showcasing a new modular smartphone concept. The ultra-thin 4.9mm phone uses magnetic connections to attach hardware modules like a power bank, an action camera, or a telephoto lens, aiming to solve the space constraints of adding more powerful AI hardware. This push into AI comes as the entire mobile industry shifts from AI as a novel feature to a foundational part of the device architecture. Industry analysts forecast that generative AI-enabled smartphones will represent over a third of total shipments in 2026.
