(ktla.com, abc7.com) A second reported attack happened on April 18 at about 5 p.m. in Silver Lake Meadows, where police said a 33-year-old woman was exercising when a man grabbed her from behind, groped her breasts and fled. NBC Los Angeles reported a third woman, identified only as Sabrina, said she was attacked around 8 p.m. on April 13. (ktla.com, nbclosangeles.com) LAPD published a newsroom alert on April 22 saying detectives are seeking additional sexual assault victims in the Silver Lake Reservoir case. The department said anyone with information should contact Northeast Area Sexual Assault Detective Supervisor Michelle Gomez at 323-561-3272. (lapdonline.org, ktla.com) Officers have increased patrols around the reservoir, including foot patrols by senior lead officers and added visibility across multiple shifts, LAPD Capt. Mike Bland told NBC Los Angeles. Warning signs have also been posted around the loop and park entrances. (nbclosangeles.com, abc7.com) The attacks were reported in an area residents described to local television stations as darker and less well lit than other parts of the reservoir. One resident told ABC7 she had shifted to the side with better streetlights after hearing about the assaults. (ktla.com, abc7.com) Police have described the suspect only as a Hispanic or Asian man with a large build. LAPD and NBC Los Angeles said investigators are asking other possible victims to file reports as detectives work to identify him. (ktla.com, nbclosangeles.com) For now, the case remains unsolved, and LAPD is using the public appeal, added patrols and victim reports to try to stop any further attacks at one of Silver Lake’s busiest walking routes.
