CODA Bar Opens This March
CODA, a new outdoor bar in Festival Plaza, is generating buzz for its vinyl DJs, industrial design, and sunset-inspired cocktails launching this March. The venue combines live electronic music with curated drinks in an outdoor setting.
CODA serves as the official destination bar for the Adelaide Festival, running concurrently with the festival from February 27 to March 15, 2026. It will be open from 5:00 pm until late from Saturday to Thursday, though it will be closed on Tuesdays and on Monday, March 9. The bar is a central social hub for artists, festival-goers, and the general public to converge before or after shows. The bar is situated in the newly redeveloped Festival Plaza, a major project representing over $1 billion in public and private investment. This revitalized public space, which saw its first and largest stage completed in March 2022, connects key cultural venues like the Adelaide Festival Centre, SkyCity Casino, and the railway station. CODA itself is an outdoor venue with views over Elder Park, designed to be a bespoke space for the festival period. A curated lineup of nightly vinyl DJs is a key feature of CODA's atmosphere. The rotation includes international acts like Adrian Stout of The Tiger Lillies (UK) alongside a strong local contingent. Adelaide-based talent includes the Porch Records DJs, a collective from a local record store known for specializing in jazz, funk, and soul, as well as other local spinners like Ed Temple, Cazeaux O.S.L.O, and Laura Danvers. The beverage menu is a collaboration with several key partners. Drink offerings will feature spirits from Prohibition Liquor Co., beers from Coopers, and wines from Bone Dry and Pommery. These partnerships provide a foundation for the bar's "sunset-inspired cocktails" and curated drinks list.
