Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort said on May 21 that writer-director-producer Ryan Coogler’s film “Sinners” will become an all-new haunted house at Halloween Horror Nights this fall. The attraction is scheduled to open on Friday, Aug. 28, at Universal Orlando Resort and on Thursday, Sept. 3, at Universal Studios Hollywood, according to Universal’s announcement. The company tied the house to the 2025 film’s Mississippi Delta setting and vampire storyline, saying guests will move through Club Juke as characters from the movie and its antagonists appear throughout the experience. Tickets are already on sale for Hollywood, while Universal said select tickets are available for Orlando. ### When does the “Sinners” house actually open in each park? Friday, Aug. 28, is the opening date Universal gave for the Orlando version of the “Sinners” house, and Thursday, Sept. 3, is the opening date it gave for Hollywood. Universal included both dates in the same May 21 press release announcing the attraction for the two resorts. (media.universalparksusa.com) Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights page says the Florida event runs on select nights from Aug. 28 through Nov. 1, 2026. Universal Studios Hollywood’s event page says the California event runs on select nights from Sept. 3 through Nov. 1, 2026. ### What did Universal say guests will see inside the house? Club Juke is the central setting Universal used to describe the haunted house. (media.universalparksusa.com) In its release, the company said guests will be taken back to the 1930s Mississippi Delta and into the juke joint from the film, where “nothing is as it seems” once the vampires Remmick, Bert and Joan appear. (universalorlando.com) Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian said in a joint statement that partnering with Halloween Horror Nights gives fans a chance “to step even deeper into the world of the film.” Universal said guests will encounter characters including Sammie, Mary, Annie, Pearline and Cornbread, and will be caught in the struggle between twin brothers Smoke and Stack and the vampires. (media.universalparksusa.com) ### How big is Halloween Horror Nights 2026 in Orlando and Hollywood? Universal Studios Hollywood’s event page says the 2026 edition will feature eight haunted houses. The same page also lists scare zones, live entertainment, rides and attractions, themed food and drinks, merchandise and the Terror Tram as part of the event lineup. Universal Orlando’s event page gives a different count. (media.universalparksusa.com) The Orlando site says its 35th year will feature 10 haunted houses, along with scare zones, live entertainment, rides and attractions, themed food and drinks and merchandise. ### Is the “42 nights” figure accurate? Universal Studios Hollywood’s posted 2026 event dates add up to 42 nights. The ticketing page lists dates from Sept. 3-6, 10-13, 17-20, 23-27 and 30, then Oct. 1-4, 7-11, 14-18, 21-25 and 28-31, plus Nov. 1. (universalstudioshollywood.com) That total is 42 separately ticketed event nights. (universalorlando.com) Universal Orlando’s public event page does not present a single total-night figure in the same way on the page reviewed here, but it does confirm the event window of Aug. 28 to Nov. 1 on select nights. ### What else did Universal say about the attraction? John Murdy, executive producer of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood, said the company is “creating new ways to scare our guests that we’ve never attempted.” His statement accompanied Universal’s announcement and framed the house as an adaptation of Coogler’s vampire story for a live walk-through setting.
