Wu Lyf Returns With Album
Wu Lyf has announced their new album "A Wave That Will Never Break," produced by Sonic Boom, marking their return after years of silence following their cult debut "Go Tell Fire to the Mountain." The lead single "Love Your Fate" is already available for streaming.
- The band's full name is World Unite! Lucifer Youth Foundation, and they self-released their debut album on their own "LYF Recordings" label. The album was recorded in an old, abandoned church in Manchester, which contributed to its reverb-heavy, anthemic sound. - Frontman Ellery Roberts unexpectedly disbanded the group in November 2012 via a YouTube post with a farewell track titled "T R I U M P H". The decision came as a surprise to his bandmates and followed a period of growing disillusionment for Roberts. - In the intervening years, Roberts and his partner Ebony Hoorn formed the band Lost Under Heaven (LUH), releasing three albums. The other members of Wu Lyf went on to form projects including Los Porcos and Francis Lung. - The new album's producer, Peter Kember, is also known by his stage name Sonic Boom and was a founding member of the influential psychedelic rock band Spacemen 3. He has an extensive production history, having worked with artists like Panda Bear, MGMT, and Beach House. - "A Wave That Will Never Break" will not be released on major streaming services like Spotify or Apple Music. Instead, the band is releasing it directly to fans through their own subscription-based community platform called L Y F. - The reunion was first hinted at in March 2025, shortly after Roberts' project Lost Under Heaven announced their breakup. The band is supporting the new album with their first major tour in over a decade, with dates scheduled in Europe and North America.
