Fresh R&B Spotlight Series Launches

The Daily Note launched a 'New Music Spotlight: R&B Edition' series highlighting emerging artists worth watching, complete with video clips that garnered 910 views. Meanwhile, Billboard's 'R&B/Hip-Hop Fresh Picks of the Week' is trending with new tracks from Lakeyah, Juvenile & Megan Thee Stallion, Naomi Sharon, and Chase B.

The new music series arrives as platforms continue to find new ways to introduce emerging R&B talent. Publications and streaming services alike have their own curated playlists and discovery features, like Apple Music's "New Artist Spotlight: R&B" playlist, which is regularly updated with tracks from rising voices in the genre. Among Billboard's recent "Fresh Picks" is Dutch and Caribbean singer-songwriter Naomi Sharon. In early 2023, Sharon became the first female artist to sign to Drake's OVO Sound record label. Her debut album, "Obsidian," was released in October of that year to critical praise. The collaboration between Juvenile and Megan Thee Stallion on the "B.B.B. (Remix)" connects two generations of Southern hip-hop. The original version, released in January 2026, quickly gained traction with millennials online. The remix featuring Megan Thee Stallion arrived ahead of Juvenile's upcoming album, "The Boiling Point," his first solo project in over a decade. Milwaukee rapper Lakeyah's new track "HERSKIII" marks a comeback for the artist. Signed to Quality Control Music, she has previously released projects featuring artists like Gucci Mane, Latto, and Flo Milli, and was named to XXL's prestigious Freshman Class. Chase B, highlighted in the trending list, is a frequent collaborator and official DJ for Travis Scott. While fans have speculated about his involvement in Scott's album "Utopia," he has also been working on his own solo projects.
