AUI Acquires Customer Service AI Firm Quack AI

AUI, the company behind the Apollo-1 neuro-symbolic AI model, has acquired Quack AI. Quack AI developed specialized technology for operating AI agents for customer service. The deal is expected to significantly enhance AUI's capabilities in the automated customer support sector.

- The deal is estimated to be valued at around $15 million and is set to double the size of AUI's research and development team in Tel Aviv. - AUI's Apollo-1 is described as a neuro-symbolic model, which combines the fluency of large language models with the logical reasoning of symbolic computation to better handle complex, task-based conversations like processing a transaction or booking. - Quack AI, founded in 2023 by CEO Nadav Kemper and CTO Aviram Roisman, specializes in "proactive" AI agents that identify and resolve customer issues before they escalate. - Prior to the acquisition, Quack AI had raised approximately $7 million in a seed round led by Hanaco Ventures and Storytime Capital, with participation from investors like WalkMe founder Dan Adika. - AUI was founded in 2017 by CEO Ohad Elhelo and CPO Ori Cohen and has raised nearly $60 million in total funding, including a recent $20 million SAFE round at a $750 million valuation cap. - Quack AI's existing global clients, which include companies like Artlist, Yotpo, and WalkMe, will continue to receive service supported by AUI's technology and resources.
