San Jose Apartment Fire Displaces Eight Residents
An apartment fire in San Jose on Monday displaced eight people. According to the San Jose Fire Department, the blaze occurred on the second floor of a building. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
- The fire erupted at approximately 4 p.m. on the second floor of a two-story apartment building located in the 900 block of N. First Street. - Fire crews were able to get the blaze under control by 4:37 p.m. - The fire is believed to have started in a single unit before extending into the building's attic space. - Adjacent apartments sustained both fire and water damage as a result of the blaze and suppression efforts. - In addition to the eight displaced residents, one individual was hospitalized. - This incident follows a recent two-alarm fire on Toyon Avenue in January that displaced approximately 30 residents from a 12-unit apartment complex. - In September of the previous year, a more severe three-alarm fire at the David Avenue Apartments displaced around 70 residents from 22 units after the blaze became well-established in the attic.
