Stella McCartney's Equestrian Fall
Stella McCartney's Fall 2026 Ready-to-Wear collection blends her signature sustainability ethos with equestrian-inspired looks. The collection features tailored coats, classic long sleeves, and bold accessories — often styled alongside horses for dramatic effect. McCartney continues championing eco-friendly materials and ethical production.
The Fall 2026 show took place in a working horse stable, where models shared a circular catwalk with horses. The animals were guided by equestrian artist Jean-François Pignon, a deliberate choice to underscore the brand's cruelty-free philosophy. This collection's focus on equestrian life is deeply personal, stemming from McCartney's childhood spent riding horses with her parents, Paul and Linda McCartney. A lifelong equestrian, the designer's family raised Appaloosa horses on their organic farm. The launch also intentionally coincides with the Year of the Horse. The collection is made from 98% responsibly sourced materials. Fabrics include ECONYL regenerated nylon, GOTS-certified organic cotton, and recycled cashmere, which has been used by the brand since 2016. McCartney's brand has never used leather, fur, feathers, or skins since its launch in 2001. Her Savile Row training is reflected in the collection's sharp tailoring. A notable detail is a new seasonal "SMC" crest, embroidered in gold thread on coats and denim, which was inspired by a pair of her father's old slippers. Beyond classic tailoring, the collection incorporated playful elements like rhinestone-embellished denim and jacquard patterns. A tank top featuring the phrase "HORSE GIRL" was printed using Algae Black, a low-impact pigment.
