Beta Technologies to Fly in Vermont
Burlington-based Beta Technologies was selected for a federal pilot program and will begin flight operations in Vermont this year.
Beta Technologies was chosen for the FAA's Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Integration Pilot Program. The program is designed to integrate electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft into the national airspace system. The pilot program aims to address challenges related to infrastructure, air traffic control, and public acceptance of eVTOL aircraft. Beta's participation will provide real-world data and insights to help the FAA develop regulations and standards for the AAM industry. Beta Technologies plans to conduct flight operations at various locations in Vermont. These operations will focus on cargo delivery and potentially passenger transport, showcasing the versatility of their electric aircraft.
