Apple Rumored to Have 'Big Week' Ahead
Speculation is growing that Apple is preparing for a major media event this week. While details are scarce, rumors suggest potential announcements could include new iPhone colors among other product updates.
Instead of a traditional live-streamed keynote, Apple is hosting a multi-day series of announcements culminating in a "Special Apple Experience" on March 4 in New York, London, and Shanghai. CEO Tim Cook confirmed the announcements would begin rolling out as early as Monday, March 2, suggesting a staggered release of information via press releases. The most anticipated product is the iPhone 17e, the next generation of Apple's budget-friendly smartphone. This model is expected to gain the powerful A19 chip from the iPhone 17 line and may replace the notch with the Dynamic Island feature. A significant refresh is expected across the Mac lineup, with the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models slated to receive the high-performance M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. The 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models are also in line for an update to the baseline M5 chip. Potentially disrupting the education market, a new low-cost MacBook is heavily rumored to launch, aimed directly at competing with Chromebooks. To achieve a lower price point, this entirely new laptop line might utilize an iPhone-class A-series processor instead of the more traditional M-series silicon. The iPad family is also poised for updates, though with fewer design changes. The iPad Air is rumored to receive a chip upgrade to the M4 processor, while the base model iPad is also expected to see a spec refresh. This spring hardware blitz follows an established pattern for Apple, which has historically used March and April to launch mid-cycle iPhone color options, new iPad models, and updated Macs like the Mac Studio.
