Call of Duty Warzone Major Update

Call of Duty Warzone is getting a major Season 2 Reloaded update alongside a fully revealed Blackout update, positioning this as a significant refresh for the battle royale. COD Esports announced team passes are live for the Warzone Resurgence Series LAN Final at DreamHack Birmingham. THE FINALS also released update 9.12.0 with gameplay changes and fixes.

The Season 2 Reloaded update for Warzone is scheduled to launch on March 11, 2026. The main feature is a new free-to-play mode called Black Ops Royale, which is heavily inspired by Call of Duty's original battle royale, Blackout. Black Ops Royale takes place on a new map named Avalon. This mode changes the core gameplay loop by removing player-created loadouts, the Gulag, and Buy Stations, forcing players to scavenge for all their gear. Traversal is also updated with the reintroduction of wingsuits. Instead of custom loadouts, players will find weapons of varying rarity and upgrade them by finding attachment kits as loot. The perk system is also different; perks are found on the map and can be equipped and swapped in five flexible slots, rather than being pre-selected. The Warzone Resurgence Series LAN Final at DreamHack Birmingham features a $100,000 prize pool. This event is one of two LAN finals leading up to a championship finale at the Esports World Cup, which has a combined series prize pool of $1.2 million. The stakes at DreamHack Birmingham are high, as the top four performing teams will qualify directly for the $1,000,000 Call of Duty: Warzone Resurgence Series Championship held at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Rival shooter THE FINALS' recent update significantly altered its "Point Break" mode by increasing objective scores by a factor of ten. For example, capturing a Grand Vault now awards 1,000 points, up from 100. The patch also resolved a server cluster issue that caused lag for West Coast players from February 12-25. The update for THE FINALS also introduced the "Sponsor Showdown" event, where players compete to earn fans for their chosen in-game sponsor. A bonus XP event is also active until the end of the season, granting up to 200% extra XP for daily contracts and 150% for general gameplay.
