BTQ Launches On-Demand Quantum Emulation Service
BTQ Technologies has launched a quantum emulation service powered by its MIMIQ™ technology. The service, available on the QUREKA™ platform, allows researchers and developers to experiment with quantum algorithms without needing access to physical quantum hardware. This aims to lower the barrier to entry for development in the quantum computing space.
- The MIMIQ™ technology powering the service can emulate quantum circuits with thousands of qubits and millions of gates, exceeding the practical limits of current physical quantum hardware by using advanced state-vector and Matrix Product State (MPS) simulation methods. - BTQ holds a 16.67% interest in QPerfect, the French developer of MIMIQ™, and is in the process of a full acquisition, which will transition BTQ from a post-quantum security firm to a vertically integrated neutral atom quantum computing company. - The QUREKA™ platform is operated by the South Korea-based company SDT Inc., a partner of major conglomerates GS Group and LG Electronics. Under the agreement, SDT runs the front-end service while QPerfect maintains the MIMIQ back end in a European cloud environment. - MIMIQ™ is already used by enterprise and research customers across Europe, Asia, and North America and has been validated through peer-reviewed work with hardware partners like QuEra and Quantinuum. - For fintech applications, this type of emulation accelerates research and development in areas like portfolio optimization, derivative pricing, and complex Monte Carlo simulations for risk analysis, which are computationally intensive for classical computers. - This service enters a global quantum simulation platforms market valued at $885 million in 2025 and projected to reach $3.8 billion by 2035. - MIMIQ™ is the initial layer of a broader framework called the Quantum Logical Unit (QLU™), which is designed to help bridge the gap between current noisy, intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) hardware and future fault-tolerant quantum systems.
