Guardforce AI Extends Partnership with Global Sportswear Brand

Guardforce AI announced the extension of its partnership to provide smart retail solutions to the Thailand branch of a major global sportswear company. The company provides AI-driven technology for automation and robotics. The renewal indicates continued demand for its services in the retail sector.

This partnership extension will see Guardforce AI deploy its smart retail solutions at five more of the sportswear brand's Thailand locations in 2026 and an additional one in 2027. This builds on a 2025 rollout of AI camera systems across 13 stores and full solution deployment in two other locations for the same client. The company's smart retail platform combines AI-powered CCTV analytics with RFID-based inventory management. This integrated system is designed to reduce theft, cut down on inventory errors, optimize store layouts for sales, and correlate foot traffic with sales performance. Based in Singapore, Guardforce AI (NASDAQ: GFAI) is in the midst of a strategic pivot from its legacy as a secured logistics provider to an "AI-first" technology company. While a majority of its revenue is still generated from services like cash-in-transit and ATM management for clients in the Asia-Pacific region, it is increasingly focused on its Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) and AI solutions business segments. Financially, the company's transition shows both growth and growing pains. For the first half of 2025, revenues grew 3.6% to $18.2 million, but net loss also widened slightly to $2.2 million, attributed to investments in its AI transformation. The company maintained a solid cash position of $25.0 million as of June 30, 2025. In a move to signal confidence, the company's board authorized a $5 million share repurchase program in February 2026. This followed a notification from Nasdaq in December 2025 that the company was not in compliance with the minimum $1.00 bid price requirement, a common challenge for growth-stage public companies. Chairwoman and CEO Lei (Olivia) Wang stated the company aims to deploy these smart solutions across many of the 5,000 retail stores it already serves through its established logistics business. This strategy leverages its existing client base as a direct channel for upselling its new AI-driven technology services.
