New leadership books list
Curators are flagging five leadership releases for April that emphasize trust, communication and authentic leadership — quick reads aimed at managers wanting actionable frameworks for team performance (roundup for April 2026) (jmlalonde.com) (thehindu.com).
The five titles called out on the April roundup are Trust Works! — Four Keys to Building Lasting Relationships (Ken Blanchard, Cynthia Olmstead, Martha Lawrence); Words That Change Minds (Shelle Rose Charvet); Humble Leadership (Edgar H. Schein & Peter A. Schein); The Thin Book of Trust (Charles Feltman); and Just Listen (Mark Goulston). (jmlalonde.com (jmlalonde.com)) Trust Works! was published in 2013 and is a compact 160-page tie-in to Blanchard’s TrustWorks! training program. (kenblanchardbooks.com (kenblanchardbooks.com)) Words That Change Minds first appeared in 1997 and the 2nd edition runs about 221 pages while framing influence around the Language and Behaviour (LAB) Profile. (books.google.com (books.google.com)) Humble Leadership is offered in a second edition published Aug. 22, 2023, at 192 pages and explicitly develops “situational humility” and the authors’ push toward deeper, “Level 2” relationships across organizations. (penguinrandomhouse.com (penguinrandomhouse.com)) Charles Feltman’s The Thin Book of Trust first came out in 2008 and has been revised into later editions; the book’s core diagnostic—four assessments of trust—is repeatedly cited in leadership training. (archive.org (archive.org)) Feltman’s four assessments—sincerity, reliability, competence and care—are the specific lenses leaders are asked to use to diagnose and repair trust breakdowns. (penguinrandomhouse.com (penguinrandomhouse.com)) Just Listen was first published in hardcover in 2009 and is commonly available in a 256-page paperback that packages techniques for defusing anger and getting through to resistant colleagues or clients.
