Cy Twombly Retrospective at The Met

The Met is planning its first Cy Twombly retrospective in over 30 years, along with a Lee Krasner–Jackson Pollock show for the fall [https://artnews.com/art-news/news/met-museum-cy-twombly-retrospective-1234776412].

The last major Twombly retrospective was in 1994 at MoMA, so this is a long time coming. The Met's show will span his entire career, including paintings, sculptures, and drawings. Nicholas Cullinan, director of the National Portrait Gallery in London, will curate the Twombly retrospective. He's known for his work on modern and contemporary art. The Krasner-Pollock show will focus on their individual artistic achievements and their complex relationship. It aims to move beyond seeing Krasner primarily as Pollock's wife.
