New Honky-Tonk Bar Opens on River Walk

The Rowdy Spur aims to offer live music seven nights a week, spotlighting local and regional talent. This fills a niche on the River Walk, which is known more for chain restaurants and tourist spots. The location at 121 Alamo Plaza is in the heart of the River Walk, offering high visibility. Pat O'Brien's, the previous tenant, closed in 2023 after nearly 35 years. The new bar's concept focuses on Texas country and Americana music. This reflects the growing popularity of honky-tonk culture in San Antonio and throughout Texas.
