Unleash Raises $35M for AI-Driven Shipping

AI-native software delivery platform Unleash just raised a $35 million Series B to help enterprises ship software faster and more safely. The raise highlights the intense capital required for enterprise-scale AI tools. The founders stress that effective scaling is less about headcount and more about orchestrating cross-functional teams and building technical leverage from day one.

This latest $35M Series B brings Unleash's total funding to $51.5 million. The round was led by growth equity firm One Peak, which specializes in scaling enterprise software companies and manages over $4 billion in assets. Existing investors Spark Capital, Frontline Ventures, and Firstminute Capital also participated. The Oslo-based company was co-founded by brothers Egil Østhus (CEO) and Ivar Østhus (CTO). It began as an open-source feature management project started by Ivar on GitHub before being formally established as a company in 2019. Today, the open-source project has over 13,000 GitHub stars and 40 million downloads. Unleash is positioning "FeatureOps" as the crucial control layer for enterprises where AI is accelerating code production 2-3 times faster than previous benchmarks. Citing DORA research, the company notes that a 25% increase in AI adoption often correlates with a 7% decrease in software stability, creating a significant risk for large-scale operations. The platform is designed to give engineering leaders real-time control over production software, enabling controlled releases and immediate rollbacks without redeploying code. CEO Egil Østhus emphasizes that when AI-generated code breaks in production, this ability to instantly diagnose and recover is critical to avoiding revenue loss. The company has demonstrated significant traction since its 2022 Series A, doubling its annual recurring revenue for three consecutive years. It currently serves over 500 paying customers and boasts a net revenue retention rate of 140%, indicating strong adoption and expansion within its existing client base. Unleash's enterprise client roster includes major players in highly regulated industries, such as Lloyds Banking Group, Prudential, Wayfair, and Lenovo. This adoption by large, complex organizations validates the platform's ability to manage the tension between AI-driven development speed and enterprise-grade governance.
