Quentin Tarantino Play Debuts
Quentin Tarantino's first stage play, *The Popinjay Cavalier*, a swashbuckling comedy set in 1830s Europe, is coming to London's West End The Hollywood Reporter NY Times.
Casting is underway, but Tarantino has stated he's hoping to get British actors for the leads. He feels they'll bring an authenticity to the period dialogue that American actors might struggle with. The play follows a foppish nobleman who is secretly a skilled swordsman, battling political intrigue and romantic rivals. Tarantino has been working on the script for over a decade, calling it a passion project. Previews are set to begin in late July at the Noël Coward Theatre. Tickets go on sale next week, with prices ranging from £25 to £150. This marks Tarantino's first foray into theater, after a career primarily in film. He has previously directed live readings of his screenplays, but this is a fully staged production.
