The Promesses sector for young galleries is curated by independent exhibition curator Marc Donnadieu, who also sits on Art Paris’s selection committee. (artparis.com) Participating booths are reserved for galleries founded less than ten years ago, and 12 of the selected galleries are taking part at Art Paris for the first time. (artparis.com) A geographic breakdown shows 56% of the Promesses galleries are based in France, while 44% come from abroad — including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Italy, Luxembourg, Morocco, Singapore and the USA. (artparis.com) Galleries in the sector may present up to three emerging artists each, and the fair supports Promesses with a reduced exhibitor rate of €10,000 (excl. VAT) for a 20 m2 stand. (artparis.com) Organisers say the sector will present 56 artists in total, 31 of whom are women, giving a numerical snapshot of the programme’s gender composition. (artistichub.online) Named presentations announced for Promesses include a Nicolas Boulard solo by 22,48 m2 (Romainville), a solo of Yasmine Hadni at AA Gallery (Casablanca), and a first-time participation from Alain Hélou (Brest) showing works by Dmitry Bulnygin and Mylinh Nguyen.
