Golden Gate Park Band Returns For 2026 Concerts

San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park Band starts its 144th season on Sunday, April 26, with a free opening concert at the Spreckels Temple of Music. (goldengateparkband.org) The band’s 2026 season runs from April 26 through Sept. 27, with regular Sunday concerts beginning at 1 p.m. and usually ending around 2:30 or 2:45 p.m. without an intermission. Early programs include a Polish culture celebration on May 3, a Mother’s Day concert on May 10 and an Armenian culture concert on May 24. A June 7 Pride concert is set to feature San Francisco Drag Laureate Per Sia and performer Lambert Moss. The department calls it one of the oldest professional concert bands in the United States. Recreation and Parks says the current structure was built in 1900 after an earlier bandstand went up in 1882.
