San Francisco State University will hold a recognition ceremony Tuesday, April 21, for student tax volunteers as part of Business Ethics Week. (cob.sfsu.edu) The event runs from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Library 121 and is co-hosted by the SFSU Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and the Center for Ethical and Sustainable Business. (webapps.sfsu.edu) San Francisco State’s listing says the program will bring together students, faculty and community partners to reflect on the 2026 tax season, recognize volunteers and discuss service through ethical leadership. (cob.sfsu.edu) Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, or VITA, is an Internal Revenue Service-sponsored program that offers free tax preparation to eligible filers. San Francisco State says its site serves low-income taxpayers, students, older adults, people with limited English proficiency and people with disabilities. (cob.sfsu.edu) The ceremony lands near the end of the filing season, when campus VITA sites wrap up months of return preparation and volunteer training. San Francisco State promoted its 2026 tax-season services in January through CampusMemo. (campusmemo.sfsu.edu) The recognition event is also part of a longer-running campus series. The Center for Ethical and Sustainable Business says Business Ethics Week has been held every year since 2006 except 2020 and focuses on business ethics, social justice, the environment and innovation. (cob.sfsu.edu) San Francisco State describes its VITA operation as one of the largest in California, led by students in the Beta Alpha Psi Beta Chi Chapter with support from the Accounting Department and the Lam Family College of Business. The university says the chapter has repeatedly earned “Superior Chapter” recognition from the Internal Revenue Service. (develop.sfsu.edu) Tuesday’s program will also feature keynote speaker Okorie Ramsey, according to the university calendar. The public event page lists Lena Yang as the contact and says attendees can RSVP through the college website. (webapps.sfsu.edu) The ceremony puts a public finish on a service program built around tax help, student training and campus recognition. On Tuesday afternoon, that work moves from tax tables to a stage in the library. (cob.sfsu.edu)
