Luxury brands have turned Milan’s Fuorisalone into a second showroom, using installations, cafés and limited editions to sell a story as much as a product. (nssmag.com) nss magazine published a 10-stop list for Fuorisalone 2026 that included Veuve Clicquot’s “Chasing the Sun,” Fendi’s Baguette Re-Edition, Gucci Memoria, Tod’s ICONS, Ploom’s “A Study of Milan and its AURA” and Prada Frames. Fuorisalone’s official guide says the citywide program runs April 20 to 26 alongside Salone del Mobile in Milan. (nssmag.com) (fuorisalone.it) The format is broad. Veuve Clicquot said its Yinka Ilori-designed “Chasing the Sun” runs April 21 to 26 with an immersive installation, café and boutique in Milan, while Prada said Prada Frames returns April 19 to 21 for its fifth edition, curated by Formafantasma and focused on ideas rather than products. (veuveclicquot.com) (prada.com) Other houses are using the week to reframe house icons. Fendi said Maria Grazia Chiuri is presenting 20 Baguette re-editions during Milano Design Week 2026, and Tod’s said its “ICONS by ICONS” project will celebrate the Gommino loafer from April 22 to 26. (fendi.com) (tods.com) Gucci is using Fuorisalone to stage brand history as exhibition. Fuorisalone’s official listing says “Gucci Memoria,” curated by Demna at the Chiostri di San Simpliciano, retells the house’s 105-year history from April 21 to 26, and Gucci describes the project as an immersive installation with tapestries and a Flora Garden. (fuorisalone.it) (gucci.com) That mix of exhibition, retail and hospitality has become a standard Milan Design Week playbook. Fuorisalone’s official site describes the event as a citywide program spread across districts and venues, while Superstudio said its 2026 edition alone brings together 70 projects, 91 brands and 88 designers from 19 countries. (fuorisalone.it) (nssmag.com) The appeal for luxury groups is time and setting. Salone del Mobile 2026 runs April 21 to 26 at Fiera Milano Rho, but Fuorisalone spills into cloisters, boutiques, streets and cultural venues across the city, giving fashion and drinks brands a public-facing stage outside a trade-fair booth. (internimagazine.com) (fuorisalone.it) The objects on view are often built to travel after Milan. Fendi said 14 of its Baguette re-editions will move from the Montenapoleone flagship to boutiques in Shanghai IFC and New York’s 57th Street, turning a one-week activation into a wider retail rollout. (fendi.com) By the time the crowds move on from Milan, the installations have already done two jobs: they filled the week’s cultural calendar and gave brands new packaging for old icons. (nssmag.com)
