Amazon Opens New 7,000-Seat Bengaluru Campus
Amazon has opened a new 1.1 million square foot office in Bengaluru, its second-largest in Asia, with capacity for over 7,000 employees. The campus will support teams across AWS, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Alexa. This expansion reinforces India's role as a critical hub for Amazon's global product development and operations.
- This new campus is not only the second-largest in Asia but also Amazon's second-largest single-building corporate office globally. - The facility is located approximately 15 kilometers from Kempegowda International Airport and serves as the new India headquarters, relocating from its previous base at the World Trade Center in West Bengaluru. - In addition to the tech-focused teams, the campus will also house employees from the ecommerce, operations, payments, and seller services divisions. - This is Amazon's 10th corporate office in Karnataka, complementing a substantial logistics network in the state that includes 7 fulfillment centers, 3 sort centers, and over 130 last-mile delivery stations. - The inauguration on February 23, 2026, was attended by Dr. M.B. Patil, the Minister for Large & Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development for the Government of Karnataka. - While this campus is a major expansion, Amazon's largest campus in the world remains its Hyderabad facility, which opened in 2019 with a capacity for over 15,000 employees. - The campus design incorporates sustainability measures to align with Amazon's goal of reaching net-zero carbon by 2040 and features amenities like basketball courts and an amphitheater. - This development is part of a broader investment strategy in India, where Amazon has pledged to invest an additional $35 billion by 2030.
