San Antonio Forms Economic Security Advisory Group

San Antonio Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones announced the creation of the Economic Security Advisory Group (ESAG) to foster innovation.

The ESAG will be headed by Rackspace Technology co-founder, Graham Weston, and former USAA CEO, Wayne Peacock. The group's mission is to provide recommendations to strengthen San Antonio's economic foundation through innovative strategies. The announcement follows concerns about San Antonio's economic competitiveness and aims to leverage local talent and resources. Specific areas of focus for the ESAG include technology, cybersecurity, and advanced manufacturing. Jones emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in driving economic growth and ensuring equitable opportunities for all residents. The ESAG is expected to present its initial findings and recommendations to the City Council within the next six months.
