Roblox Plus launches April 30

Roblox is rolling out a new subscription called Roblox Plus on April 30 that replaces Roblox Premium for new subscribers and offers perks like discounts, private servers and fee‑free Robux transfers. The company frames it as a creator- and retention-focused package that shifts platform economics toward recurring revenue inside Roblox’s ecosystem. (neutralgame.com.mx)

Roblox will launch a new $4.99-a-month subscription called Roblox Plus on April 30 and stop selling Roblox Premium to new subscribers the same day. (about.roblox.com) The new plan starts with a 10% discount on in-game items and avatar purchases, then rises to 20% in a subscriber’s third consecutive month. Roblox said the service will be available globally. (about.roblox.com) Roblox Plus also includes free unlimited private servers, fee-free Robux transfers, marketplace trading and resale tools, and a profile badge. Roblox said it will later add bundles that combine the subscription with 500, 1,000, or 2,000 Robux each month. (en.help.roblox.com) The change splits Roblox’s paid offerings in two. Plus is a benefits-only subscription with no built-in monthly Robux stipend, while existing Premium members keep their stipend and can retain their plan if they do not cancel. (en.help.roblox.com, en.help.roblox.com) Premium is also losing perks. Roblox said Premium memberships will no longer be sold after April 30, and on May 30 the 10% bonus on Robux purchases ends and the Premium logo disappears. (en.help.roblox.com) Roblox is pitching the new plan as a creator product as much as a player one. The company said it will fund the subscriber discounts itself so creators still earn the same amount per item, and it said paid private servers and in-game subscription sign-ups can create new revenue streams for developers. (ir.roblox.com, about.roblox.com) That pitch lands as Roblox is operating at much larger scale than a year ago. The company said 144 million people now use Roblox daily, a figure it has also used in recent creator announcements. (about.roblox.com, about.roblox.com) The subscription also comes with tighter rules around payments and age checks. Roblox said users must be age-verified and 18 or older to send or receive Robux without parental approval, while younger users need a parent or caregiver to approve each transfer. (about.roblox.com, en.help.roblox.com) Roblox updated its subscription terms ahead of the launch, with the new rules taking effect on April 30. The company said subscription prices can vary by country or region and may change if a user changes country of residence. (en.help.roblox.com) What happens next is straightforward: new users choosing a paid Roblox plan after April 30 will be steered to Roblox Plus, while Premium becomes a legacy subscription for people who already have it.
