Waterdrop Unveils Whole-House RO System

At the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) 2026, water purification company Waterdrop Filter debuted its first-ever whole-house reverse osmosis (RO) system. The launch marks the company's expansion into comprehensive home water treatment solutions.

The new Waterdrop MASTER WHS01 system uses a 0.0001μm high-precision reverse osmosis membrane. This level of filtration is designed to aggressively target contaminants like heavy metals, fluoride, and "forever chemicals" known as PFAS. The system's launch signals a broader industry trend of moving from single-faucet filters to comprehensive water treatment for the entire home. Whole-house RO systems process all water at its point of entry, delivering purified water to every tap and appliance. This technology is capable of removing up to 99% of total dissolved solids (TDS), which can include arsenic, lead, nitrates, and chlorine. Beyond drinking water, this level of purification can extend the life of appliances like water heaters and dishwashers by preventing mineral and scale buildup. Users also report benefits for skin and hair, as showering in water free of chlorine and other chemicals can reduce dryness and irritation. However, the technology has trade-offs. Whole-house RO systems can be a significant investment with high upfront costs for purchase and installation. The process also generates wastewater and strips water of beneficial minerals like calcium and magnesium, leading some homeowners to add a remineralization unit. Waterdrop is not a new player in water purification, having established a significant North American market share with its under-sink, countertop, and refrigerator filters. The company is known for its space-saving tankless designs and smart features like real-time water quality monitoring. The debut of the whole-house system at KBIS 2026 drew significant interest from major distributors and retail giants, including Costco, Sam's Club, and Walmart. This attention suggests the company is poised for a major retail push, moving its comprehensive filtration technology from a niche product to a mainstream home upgrade.
