Mt. Ashland Ski Area Closes Again

The latest shutdown was prompted by a meager 14-inch base on the lower mountain, with a season-to-date snowfall of just 82 inches. Operations were officially paused at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28th, as forecasts called for warm temperatures and rain, which would further erode the thin snowpack. This season has been marked by inconsistency, with some calling this the "third act" for the ski area.
