Navigara Raises $2.5M for AI ROI Platform

Navigara has launched with $2.5M in funding to build a 'performance layer' for engineering teams. The platform aims to help leaders measure and prove whether adopting new AI tools actually improves developer performance and delivers a positive return on investment.

Navigara was co-founded by Jirka Bachel, a serial CTO with a background building browsers for 1.5M users, and Peter Malina, the former Director of Engineering at Kiwi.com who led a 50-person platform domain. The San Francisco-headquartered company, founded in 2022, maintains its engineering operations in Prague and pivoted to its current focus in 2025 after Malina joined as co-founder. The platform integrates with version-control systems like GitHub and GitLab, deploying autonomous AI agents into a customer's private cloud to analyze development activity. This approach ensures data sovereignty and that proprietary source code is only analyzed in memory and never stored or used for model training. Instead of tracking simple activity metrics like commit counts, Navigara evaluates the value and strategic alignment of engineering work. It analyzes code quality, delivery velocity, and whether the work supports product goals, creating a historical performance baseline from up to 15 years of a company's Git history. The funding round was led by Inovo VC, with Rockaway Ventures and QQ Capital participating. Petr Šmíd, a partner at Rockaway Ventures, noted that with the recent wave of AI adoption, it is now critical for companies to distinguish which tools truly create value versus what is an unnecessary expense. This addresses a growing paradox in software engineering: while teams use 8-10 AI tools on average and 63% ship code faster, nearly half are concerned about an increase in software vulnerabilities. Furthermore, some studies show that while developers perceive AI as a productivity boost, experienced engineers can actually take longer to complete tasks when using AI assistants due to time spent debugging "almost correct" solutions. Navigara claims to have reached $1 million in annual revenue before its official product launch. The company's B2B SaaS model is designed for enterprises and software development agencies to provide objective, third-party validation of engineering output and the impact of AI tooling.
