Indian Quick Commerce Startup HomeRun Raises $6.6M
HomeRun, a Bengaluru-based quick commerce platform with operations in Hyderabad, has secured $6.6 million (Rs 60 crore) in a new funding round. The company plans to use the capital to expand its network of 'dark stores' and launch in new cities. The investment signals continued confidence in India's hyperlocal, high-velocity delivery market.
- The Series A funding round was led by Sorin Investments, which invested Rs 40 crore ($4.8 million) of the total. Other participants included Titan Capital Winners Fund, Sparrow Capital, and Helios Holdings. - This investment follows a Rs 9 crore ($1.1 million) seed round just three months prior, co-led by Titan Capital and Sparrow Capital in November 2025, indicating rapid scaling and investor confidence. - Unlike grocery-focused platforms, HomeRun targets the construction and home improvement materials market, delivering items like cement, plywood, and plumbing supplies within a 60-90 minute window. This niche addresses procurement delays that directly impact project costs and labor downtime for contractors. - The company was founded in 2024 by Pukhraj Grewal, who previously founded ProjectHero, a marketplace for construction workers, bringing domain-specific experience to the venture. - Operationally, HomeRun currently processes 200-250 orders daily with a high average order value (AOV) of approximately Rs 7,000 (~$84). It operates five dark stores in Bengaluru and plans to add six to ten more by the end of the year before expanding to cities like Hyderabad and Pune. - The capital will be used to invest in fulfillment technology to enhance reliability and unit economics, scale its dark store infrastructure, and strengthen direct sourcing and supply-chain capabilities. - The platform is targeting India's building products and materials market, which is estimated to be worth around $90 billion and is projected to grow to nearly $150 billion by 2028. - The 'dark store' model, central to HomeRun's strategy, involves customer-free micro-fulfillment centers located in dense urban areas, optimized for rapid order picking and dispatch to meet the promised delivery times.
