Prime Inc. invests $160M hub

Prime Inc. announced a $160 million investment in a Georgia hub that will add about 120 jobs, part of broader transportation and logistics growth in the state. The investment was highlighted in a social post from Georgia officials (x.com).

Prime Inc. will spend more than $160 million on a new Southeastern regional hub in Spalding County, Georgia. (gov.georgia.gov) Governor Brian Kemp announced the project on April 14, 2026, saying the facility will create more than 120 full-time jobs and add more than 50 professional driver positions. (gov.georgia.gov) The campus will be built at High Falls 16 Business Center near Griffin, and Prime said the terminal will include driver training, equipment maintenance and driver amenities. (georgia.org) Prime said the site will also handle used truck and trailer sales and a tire-recycling operation that now shreds more than 1 million truck tires a year into mulch and pellet material. (georgia.org) The project lands in one of Georgia’s biggest industries: transportation and logistics generated a $107 billion economic impact in 2023, according to a study cited by state officials. (gov.georgia.gov) (georgiatrend.com) That sector employed nearly 293,000 people in Georgia in 2023 and supported another 578,300 jobs, giving the state a deep labor pool for freight, warehousing and distribution projects. (georgiatrend.com) Prime is based in Springfield, Missouri, and says it was founded in 1970 by Robert Low. The company operates more than 7,000 units with more than 8,500 drivers across refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, hopper, intermodal and logistics services. (primeinc.com) (gov.georgia.gov) Georgia has kept pitching itself as a freight hub as it courts projects like this one, and state officials have pointed to business-climate rankings as part of that sales pitch. Site Selection Magazine’s survey named Georgia the No. 1 state for Best Business Climate in January 2025. (gov.georgia.gov) Prime said hiring will start with mechanics, driving operators and facility maintenance roles. The company and state officials framed the Spalding County hub as a long-term expansion point for serving customers across the Southeast. (georgia.org)
