Microsoft Expands Copilot with Anthropic Integration

Microsoft launched Copilot Cowork, powered by Anthropic’s Claude, priced at $30 per user per month, offering agentic control and compatibility with models beyond OpenAI.

Copilot Cowork automates complex tasks across multiple steps and applications, using Microsoft's WorkIQ to understand context. It breaks down requests, reasons across tools and files, and executes tasks that can run for minutes or hours. Microsoft showcased Copilot Cowork preparing for a customer meeting by gathering relevant emails, meetings, and notes to create a presentation and Excel overview of product growth. Microsoft is also releasing the Microsoft 365 E7 bundle for $99 per user per month, which includes Copilot, Agent 365, the Entra identity suite, and advanced security tools. Agent 365, a new platform to manage AI agents, will be generally available on May 1 for $15 per user. This allows IT to monitor and secure AI agents within the organization. Copilot Cowork can be used for calendar cleanup, meeting preparation, and company research. It reviews Outlook calendars, identifies conflicts, and suggests changes, and can compile company insights from earnings reports, SEC filings, and news. Copilot Cowork integrates Claude Cowork's technology into Microsoft 365 Copilot as part of its multi-model approach, allowing the platform to use different AI systems based on the task.
