All Nippon Airways will switch its Japan domestic network to a new fare system for flights departing on and after May 19, 2026. (anahd.co.jp) ANA said the change comes with an overhaul of its domestic passenger service system and a push to align domestic booking and boarding rules more closely with its international operation. (anahd.co.jp) (ana.co.jp) The carrier’s new core domestic fares are Simple, Standard and Flex. ANA says Simple is the lowest-frills option, Standard adds seat selection and upgrade eligibility, and Flex allows free changes up to departure day. (ana.co.jp) (anahd.co.jp) In economy class, Simple includes one checked bag up to 23 kilograms, while Standard and Flex include two checked bags up to 23 kilograms each. Advance seat selection is free on Standard and Flex, but on Simple it opens at online check-in 24 hours before departure. (ana.co.jp) ANA is also adding round-trip fares to the domestic system. The airline says travelers who buy outbound and inbound flights together under the same fare can pay less than booking two one-way tickets. (ana.co.jp) (anahd.co.jp) The booking clock changes too. For flights on and after May 19, 2026, main fares such as Flex, Standard and Simple go on sale at 9:00 a.m. Japan Standard Time 355 days before departure. (ana-support.my.site.com) ANA’s own examples show how far apart the new fare buckets can be. As of April 1, 2026, a Tokyo-Sapporo economy ticket starts at 12,100 yen on Simple, 15,730 yen on Standard, and much higher on Flex. (ana.co.jp) The switch also creates a hard cutoff for older domestic tickets. ANA says fares valid for boarding through May 18, 2026 will stop being usable after that date, even if the ticket itself has not expired. (ana.co.jp 1) (ana.co.jp 2) Passengers will not be able to combine a flight before May 18, 2026 and a flight after May 19, 2026 in one reservation. ANA also said open tickets will no longer be handled under the new domestic system. (ana.co.jp) That leaves May 19, 2026 as more than a fare refresh date. It is the line between ANA’s old domestic rulebook and a new one built around simpler fare labels, tighter ticket rules and a shared system with international flying. (anahd.co.jp) (ana.co.jp)
